you'll notice some overlap with the Rest & Restore category because my niche and specialized focus is the nervous system. We are all dealing with stress: biological, environmental, existential .. .. .  Our bodies have complex and dynamic series of actions to respond to stress. We know that chronic stress underlies all disease. We know that our bodies and minds are working harder than they ever have before in human evolution trying to discern through the constant plethora of sensory information. Nervines are a group of plants that have different kinds of actions within our nervous system.  Different people have different responses: some people's indigestion is anxiety related. Some folks are exhausted and depleted, but can't seem to get good rest.

​This is hardly a comprehensive review, or materia medica. Here are the plants that grow readily in my bioregion, are old friends, and generally are of the relaxing action. Milky Oat Tops and Holy Basil are adaptogens that help our bodies respond better to stress. Like with all things, we must use multiple approaches and I know these tools will help.
